Mae Manimtim

Co-President

Mae moved to Winnipeg in 2022, eager to build a new life in a different environment. With her curiosity and drive, she sought out opportunities to get involved, and over the past three years, she has become a dedicated leader and student. Now in grade 12 at École Secondaire Sisler High, Mae serves as a Co-President for Project Pulse, following her role as the Events & External Relations Director earlier this year.

With a keen interest in developing innovative, life-changing medicine, she aspires to work in the field of pharmacy post-secondary. As a stepping stone into the health science field, she has taken on volunteering opportunities at Grace Hospital and DASCH, developing her strong interpersonal skills while also familiarizing herself with the dynamic environment of healthcare.

Outside work hours, Mae enjoys singing and has performed at the WSD Long Service Tea Ceremony. Additionally, to embrace a balance of discipline and fun in her routine, she trains in boxing and occasionally plays badminton.

Kathy Lu

Co-President

Kathy Lu is a Grade 12 student with a strong passion for health sciences. Over the past three years, she has actively been involved with Project Pulse Winnipeg, where she has taken on roles including Logistics Director, Finance & Sponsorships Director, and currently serves as the Co-President! She also volunteers with local organizations, gaining experience in communication and teamwork while contributing to her community. 

In school, Kathy maintained a high academic average in Grade 11 and is committed to continue her strong performance for her final year in high school. Outside of academics and volunteering, Kathy enjoys listening to music, reading, and diamond painting.

Eliana Gebreselassie

Events and External Relations Director

Eliana Gebreselassie (she/her) is a Grade 12 student at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate. She has been an active member of various clubs, including student council since Grade 9 and currently serves as Prime Minister. Eliana is also the co-founder of Med4Youth, a medical club at her school. Her academic passions lie in biology, math, and psychology, subjects that fuel her passion for the health sciences and hopes to one day pursue medicine, blending curiosity with care for others. Eliana also enjoys photography, volleyball, and playing the piano. Beyond the classroom, she volunteers regularly with organizations like Harvest Manitoba and loves finding time for boba breaks and all things Miffy. As one of this year's Events & External Relations Directors at Project Pulse, she is excited to bring her creativity and enthusiasm to engaging youth across Winnipeg in the health sciences and beyond!

Solace Madukwe

Events and External Relations Director

Solace Madukwe is an enthusiastic and passionate high school student who tends to be involved within her community in whatever way she can. Solace has contributed to her school leadership programs as a part of executive in her local school leadership club, Youth and Philanthropy Club, Key Club, and UNESCO program.

Solace Madukwe has also taken part in other outside extracurricular programs as a leader in the CanU program, science opportunities such as Monitoring Environmental DNA and Learning Ecology with Youth (MEdley), and volunteering opportunities within the Victoria General Hospital Volunteer network and the Boys and Girls Club. Solace is excited to be an Events and External Relations Director on the 25/26 Project Pulse team!

Andrew Liu

Events and External Relations Director

Andrew is a grade 12 student at St. John’s Ravenscourt School. Being an INFP on the MBTI scale, he enjoys taking long, solitary walks outside as a means of daily self-reflection.

Andrew is passionate about graphic design, often browsing through Pinterest to spark his inspiration to work on his next poster or Instagram post. He is also a fan of K-pop, Hip Hop, and Indie music, as you might find him wearing his signature bone-conducting headphones.Andrew is excited to bring his perspective on health and medicine to PPW as an Events and External Relations Director. Having served as Community Relations Director previously, he is experienced with organizing and running events. Andrew has pursued his interest in health by taking on AP Biology, virtual medical work experience, and through his involvement in PPW with the monthly newsletter and professional interviews. Andrew is excited to apply his knowledge to bring fresh perspectives to PPW this year.

Aadhi Chadrasekaran

Community Relations Director

Aadhi Chandrasekaran is the Marketing & Outreach Director - Community Relations for 2025–26. He is currently a Grade 9 student at Fort Richmond Collegiate, where his academic and extracurricular pursuits highlight his passion for learning, leadership, and service. Since the age of eight, Aadhi has performed as a dancer at the Tamil Pavilion for Folklorama, proudly showcasing his heritage and contributing to Manitoba’s cultural diversity.

Academically, Aadhi is deeply interested in science and innovation. He has participated in the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium, advancing to the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF). His projects in environmental science have earned both bronze and gold medals, showcasing his creativity, research skills, and commitment to problem-solving.

Beyond academics, Aadhi actively contributes to his community through volunteer work with St. Amant and Manitoba Harvest, supporting individuals and families in need. He also plays soccer for SWCC, where he continues to build teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

Yvonne Huang

Sponsorship and Finance Director

Yvonne Huang is a Grade 12 student from Winnipeg with a passion for both business and health sciences. She has taken courses in accounting, personal finance, and science.

She has also participated in events such as the Red River College's accounting simulation competition, where she honed her teamwork and problem-solving skills. After attending the Project Pulse 2025 conference, she was inspired to get more involved and is excited to join the team as the Sponsorships & Finance Director.

Outside of school, Yvonne volunteers in her community and enjoys playing the guitar and flute. She looks forward to working with the team, learning new skills, and contributing to the conference's success.

Wency Zhan

Logistics Director

Yunxi (Wency) Zhan is a Grade 12 student at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate. She is currently enrolled in courses such as calculus, chemistry, biology, and physics. Aside from classes, Wency serves as an executive member of Youth in Philanthropy and the BIPOC club.

Outside of school, Wency volunteers at the Health Sciences Center, providing clerical services and book cart support to patients. She is also involved in the Clinical Learning and Simulation Program at the University of Manitoba. Personally, Wency loves swimming and is currently working toward her lifeguard certification. She also enjoys playing piano and spending time with friends. As this year’s Logistics Director for Project Pulse, she aims to make healthcare more accessible to high school students and looks forward to connecting with everyone.

Srivatsa Rao

Graphic Designer

Srivatsa Rao (He/Him) is a grade 12 student at St. John’s-Ravenscourt and serves as the Graphic Designer Project Pulse team. In this role, he looks forward to improving the organization’s social media presence to make it as engaging and entertaining as possible.

Coming from a medical background through family members and close acquaintances, Srivatsa has always been interested in health sciences and the field of medicine. He is particularly passionate about biomedical engineering, a field that combines technology and medicine to improve people’s lives. To pursue these interests, he is currently studying physics, chemistry, and biology with the goal of potentially entering the field of medical engineering in the future.

Outside of school, Srivatsa plays soccer and volleyball, and enjoys staying active with bike rides and walks. He also appreciates quieter activities such as photography and reading, especially classic literature. Through Project Pulse, he hopes to have a great year and connect with many people through the team’s social media platforms.

Khaled Hamam

Social Media and Marketing Manager

Khaled Hamam is a Grade 11 student at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School and will be serving as the Marketing & Outreach Director – Social Media for this year's Project Pulse! Growing up in a family with many members in the medical field, Khaled developed a strong interest in medicine and aspires to one day become a surgeon. He is fascinated by the idea of making a lasting impact on people’s lives through healthcare, and he is pursuing this interest academically by taking the courses of AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and Physics.

Outside the classroom, Khaled is active in many areas of school and community life. He volunteers regularly at retirement homes, coaches skating and debate, and has gained experience working in a medical clinic. He is also an entrepreneur, running his own car detailing business over the summer. Khaled keeps active on the sporting teams through club hockey and varsity rugby.  Khaled also participates in debate and Model UN, and has had the opportunity to travel to many places while doing so!

In his free time, Khaled enjoys playing piano, mountain biking, sim racing, and working on cars. As part of Project Pulse, he is excited to share his passions, connect with others, and work to engage with many people through social media marketing!

Aneesh Dhalla

Professional Relations Director

Aneesh Dhalla is a Grade 11 student at Maples Collegiate who enjoys seeking opportunities that support both academic and personal growth. He has completed an internship in a university chemistry lab, where he learned how scientific research is applied beyond the classroom, and internships in kindergarten classrooms, where he developed patience, communication, and creativity. Through shadow days with professionals, he explored different careers and gained valuable insight into future possibilities.

His first job as a lifeguard helped him build leadership, responsibility, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. These experiences, from science and education to professional settings, have shaped him into someone who values hard work, adaptability, and continuous learning. Aneesh looks forward to building on these skills as he continues his studies and explores new opportunities.

Emily Jiang

University Relations Director

Emily Jiang is a Grade 12 student at Vincent Massey Collegiate, and this year she is thrilled to be the University Relations Director for Project Pulse Winnipeg! Surrounded by healthcare from an early age through her sisters and her connections with her employment at the University of Manitoba, Emily has developed a strong interest in medicine and hopes to inspire other youth to explore the field as well. She is passionate about health, leadership, and community engagement, and looks forward to working with like-minded peers to bring new opportunities in healthcare to Winnipeg youth.

At school, Emily is an Honours with Distinction student who also takes on a variety of leadership roles, serving as President of Key Club, President of Speak to the Top, Director of Festival Théâtre Jeunesse, and Secretary of Student Council. Outside of school, she balances working part-time with volunteering at St. Amant Centre, where she supports individuals with disabilities and brightens their days. In her free time, Emily enjoys travelling, long-distance running, and competing in public speaking.

She is excited to bring her energy and passion to Project Pulse Winnipeg and to collaborate with the team to make a meaningful impact in the community!
